Welcome to this week's (and one of my final weeks as a DT member...insert sad face here) challenge. We have a sponsor this week as well...Natacha Diemer!!! And...we have Jody G as a guest DT member!!!
I took this challenge to heart and created an "ABC" book for my almost 3-yr old. If you attended Convention in DC this past week, you might've had the opportunity to view this book in person as well as hear my baby sing his ABC's using CTMH's My Pages Talk Voice Recorder. The class I taught at Extravaganza was all about COLOR and how to mix our wonderful B&T papers. This was just a snippet of what my class was about and I will posting full details and pictures in a week or so.
Now, let's get on to the pictures....
----------------------
One of TK's favorite toys right now is the Dinosaur from Toy Story so instead of stamping a dog or something else that starts with a "d"...I chose to take a picture of his toy and put it in there...
-------------------------
The ice cream cone was made from the cloud from Childhood and then I cut a triangle from Cocoa Cardstock, dry embossed a waffle pattern on it and sanded....
------------------
TK loves his apple juice so I cut the label and adhered to a piece of cardstock....
----------------------
TK calls his blankets "nigh-nights" so he had a pretty chewed up one that I just cut a small 2x2 square from, frayed the edges a little more with my fingernails and adhered using liquid glass...
----------------
I didn't think TK would know what a "queen" was so I took this picture of him and his daddy (who's name starts with a "Q") and used it instead....
------------------
I used our Clear Cards and cut one up to resemble a glass....tore some Crystal Blue B&T and tadaaaaa...a glass of water....I didn't know anything that starts with an "x" that TK would recognize so I just left as is...
---------------------
I took a real zipper and cut to size and adhered using hot glue...you can also see the My Pages Talk Voice Recorder....I slipped the box into a clear bag for easy removal in case I need to replace the battery. I SO WISH you could hear TK say his ABC's but I totally don't know how to add a recording to blogger (if anyone knows, please let me know...I would LOVE the help!!!)
-----------------
This is the book closed...as you can see you can't close it very well with all the DE Monogram letters I used but I preferred it this way. TK will be using this book but it will not be one of his books on his shelf (it'll be stashed away in a special place)...
Don't forget to play along this week and link your project back to the main H2H Blog using Mr. Linky.
Also don't forget to visit the other Design Team members' blogs and see what special ABC project they have in store for you. While you're at Tracey's Blog and Angela's Blog, say a big CONGRATULATIONS to them both!!! Tracey won the Album Contest and received some FABULOUS prizes!!! Angela was one of the top 10 finalist in the contest and her album was all about her boys (something I can relate to)!!!
What an awesome book! I'm sure your little guy loves it. So sad we didn't meet up @ Convention!
ReplyDeleteKaty...I totally love this! I was also at Convention and was so sorry I didn't get to meet you! :(
ReplyDeleteSo very cute and clever! You obviously put a lot of heart and time into this!
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess I win because not only did I meet you, we sat at the same table for the Banquet!
