Happy Place SOTM Blog Hop...

Welcome to this month's Blog Hop featuring March's SOTM, Happy Place!

If you've come from Sarita's Blog, you're on the right track...if you get lost along the way, you can always go here and get back on track!

I'm not a colorer so I decided to make something where someone ELSE would get to color...I pulled out my favorite Paper Packet again...Ivy Lane and created a pocket full of stamped images with a few colored pencils.  Untie the bow and start coloring...

------------------------------------------------------
Here are some close-ups...
-----------------------------------------------------
I used CTMH's new FABULOUS Embossing Folders (stripes) to emboss the Kraft Cardstock...just thought it needed some character.
---------------------------------------------------
I used 4x6 Memory Protectors Flip-Flaps...stamped a whole bunch of images...and tucked them in.
----------------------------------------------------
Here's what the cute little nesting dolls look like tucked inside...this was before I adhered the focal piece on.
---------------------------------------------------------
When adhering the B&T onto the Flip-Flap, it's best to use CTMH's NEW Base & Bling Adhesive Strips

Thanks for hopping by...I hope you find inspiration for this month's SOTM!

Now hop on over to Lalia's Blog and see her Happy Place!

Simply Inspired by Embossing...

Welcome to the Simply Inspired Blog Hop featuring CTMH's NEW Embossing Folders which you can get for FREE with a qualifying purchase of 2 Cardstock Packs.

If you've come from the very talented Lisa Stenz's Blog, you're on the right track. If you get lost along the way, click here for a complete list of participating Consultants.

Here's a look at our 5 Embossing Folders...I chose to use the Chevrons!

The possibilities are endless with these folders...I chose to emboss then ink up the embossed chevrons with Lagoon Ink for a tone-on-tone look.

------------------------------
I used Balloon Ride Paper Packet, Ivy Lane Paper Packet and added Lagoon Cardstock...here are some detail shots and a peek at the inside...
------------------------------
For the inside, I just cut some individual chevrons out and adhered them to the inside...the bottom Sorbet B&T is just cut into 1/2" strips then inked up with Sorbet Ink to create the look of vertical lines...

Keep on hopping along...you're next stop is Bren Yule's Blog...prepare to be AMAZED!!!!

H2H is Flourishing...

This week over at H2H, we are all about FLOURISHES!!!!  How fun and flirty is that!?!?!

I wanted to use a technique I haven't in a while...resist embossing!

And Ivy Lane has been camping out on my work area so I grabbed some B&T and went to work.

------------------------------------
I used this B&T...grabbed a Flourish stamp (retired)...inked up with Versa Mark Ink...sprinkled some Clear Embossing Powder on...heat set it...then inked it up with some Blush Ink.  The clear-embossed images resist the Blush Ink therefore you can see the B&T paper in the background.  I love how you can see the words through the flourishes and the sponged Blush Ink.

Here are some close-ups...

-------------------------------------
Here's a side view...and a peek at the inside...super simple with the Ivy Lane zip-strip!
-------------------------------
The Stamp Set is from the Ivy Lane WOTG...I just {{{love}}} this stamp set...you can see where I used it here!

Thanks for stopping by!

Don't forget to break out you Flourishes, whether it be Sparkles or stamp sets...anything you can find with flourishes and join us at H2H for the rest of this month!

Smartie Pants on a Balloon Ride...

When I saw this idea online and pinned it, I just KNEW it would be one of those things I would actually make instead of it just sitting on  my Pinterest Board.  I also knew that I would be making it with PAPER since it's my favorite...especially this paper!

I used CTMH's Balloon Ride Paper Packet for the pants and a strip of CTMH's Jubilee Paper Packet for the Honey waistband.

I free-handed the pants template on Cardstock then cut two pieces out of Balloon Ride B&T (if you stack the 2 pieces together and cut once, make sure you put the two-like patterns of B&T together when cutting out...just like a sewing pattern).

I stitched with Orange Thread (because that's what was already in my sewing machine...I'm lazy like that!) and added some Hemp Baker's Twine...it's tied to the Smartie Rolls and once you untie the bow, you can pull up and the Smarties will exit the pants!

-------------------------------------
Here's a side view...I was hoping you could see the dimension of the pants with the Smarties bulging.  The heart is one cut from the Artbooking Cartridge...a heart border and I just cut a single heart from it...turned it over onto a Smoothie Ink Pad and worked it around 'till it was good and inked up.

-----------------------------------------
Here's a top view so you can see the little pockets created for the Smarties...

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you find some inspiration and create your own Smartie Pants for your Valentine!

What's not AMAZING about Ivy Lane...

I've been busy playing with NEW Product and you get to benefit from another Blog Hop!!!  This time I'm hopping with the girls over at  CTMH Blog Boosters!

I absolutely LOVE Ivy Lane...it's a touch of girly and the deep Ivy Lane Purple is so pretty!

I decided to make a card using the stamp set that comes with the Ivy Lane WOTG and I'm glad I did...it's a great sentiment for an all-occasion card...here's a look.

Here's a close-up of the dimension added by using some pop-dots and some Brown & Tan Sparkles...

Cozy & Cuddly with H2H...

Did you know that H2H has brought back Scrapbook Challenges!?!?!

The first one is up on the blog and here are the rules:
  • Must be a 12x12 layout showing your interpretation of Cozy & Cuddly
  • Must use CTMH Dimensional Elements
  • Must have at least 1 photo (any size)
Here's what I created for the challenge...a 1-Page Layout using the Retiring Frosted WOTG.

--------------------------
here are some of the details of the layout...
I used some retired Canvas Letters that I purchased from "While Supplies Last" items...they're gone now though...
------------------------------------------------
I love this picture of my boys...and love the pop of red in Talmadge's coat!
--------------------------------------
I used the Frosted Stickease (retired) for the banners...
----------------------------------------------
This little wreath is what started this whole layout!  I made this wreath last August for an Autumn/Winter Idea Book Swap I was in (you can see the rest of my stuff I made here).  Anyways...the wreath turned out to be a little more than what I wanted to do for a Swap so I nixed the idea...but I've had this one lying around all this time.  It's all cut using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut Collection...the chevron circles are mounted on Circle DE's from Dimensional Elements Signage pack.
-------------------------------------------------------
I new I wanted the word "SNOW" in big letters so I grabbed some Kraft Cardstock and cut out using the CTMH Artiste Cricut Collection...I love the no-flair of the font that comes with this cartridge...it's so boy-friendly!
---------------------------------------------
The letters were pretty plain so I decided to take one of the Stickease Borders that comes with the Frosted Compliments (retired) and layer them on top of the Kraft Cardstock...I had a "W" that was messed up so I did a trial-run on it first.  Peel off the border Stickease and stick to the letter.
------------------------------------------------
Here's what it looks like from the back...trim off so you can make out the letter (you can see that my "O" I kept untrimmed but all the other letters needed it!).  I suggest using CTMH's Non-Stick Microtip Scissors...these things are FABULOUS!!!
-------------------------------------------------
Then I sponged Desert Sand Ink all the way around for some pop!  After I decided I like this look, I repeated this process for the "S"...the "N"....the "O"...and the real "W".
-------------------------------------------
Did you know that you can do this whole SNOW/Stickease process a different way?!?!...apply the Stickease Border to the Kraft Cardstock FIRST then cut using your Cricut!
---------------------------------------------
Thanks for stopping by!

Remember to stop by the H2H Cozy & Cuddly Challenge so you can play along too!  You have until the end of the month to link up your layout!  Click here to link up your project!
