Decorating for Back to School...

It's time for another DTC (Decorate to Celebrate) Challenge!!!

I'm sharing a "Back to School Supply Cake" that is the perfect decoration for any teacher's classroom!

I don't really have "instructions" other than the base of the cake (behind the boxes of markers) is a 5" diameter tin that has erasers, glue sticks and lots of other tiny supplies in it. The top jar is about 3-1/2" in diameter and is just sitting on top of the tin (not adhered in any way) with some measuring tape tied around it.

Tiny strips of cardstock (1" x 3" are scored down the middle at 1-1/2" and adhered to the crayons and markers much like a hinge to keep the boxes together. I didn't want to do anything more permanent than this so these supplies would actually be usable.

The Elmer's Glue bottles and mini-composition books are just sitting there...not adhered at all.

  • Crayola Makers (10 count) - 4 packages
  • Crayola Crayons (24 count) - 7 packages
  • Yellow NO. 2 Pencils - 24
  • Elmer's Glue - 4 bottles
  • Mini Composition Books - 12
  • Erasers, glue sticks, post-its, etc. (not shown)
  • 2 jars/tin cans - one measuring about 5" diameter and one about 3-1/2"
  • Wide Ribbon - about 3 feet (depends on how big you want your bow)
  • Paper Shreds
  • Strips of Cardstock (to adhere the boxes of crayons and markers together)
Thanks for stopping by!!! Please take a moment to visit the DTC Blog and see what the other girls have to share!

Summer @ the POOL...

It's the 15th of the month which means it's time for another AWESOME Let's Scrap Sketch!!!

I decided to break out last month's Gossamer Blue Kit together with some CTMH PML (Pocket Scrapbooking) cards and pictures from one of our days at our Municipal Pool!

Here's a look at the layout with any photos or journalling...

-------------------------------------'s the layout with photos
I had too many photos to just do the three 4x6 photo wells so I took some of my favorites and cut them up to fit in the 4x6 space...
I just LOVE this photo of my daughter...her SMILE is so big and you can see my reflection in her sunglasses with technically makes it a selfie, the little pockets on the right hold some PML (pocket scrapbooking) cards that I can journal some more or add one more photo or two!
At the last minute, I decided to add some glitter to my sun using a yellow Wink Of Stella pen...I think it adds the perfect piece of shine to the layout!
Here's a look at the sketch...please come play along with us!!! You can make a 2-page layout like I did and like the sketch portrays OR you can make it a single-page layout by choosing a side!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Teacher Basket - DTC #108...

Welcome to the Decorate  to Celebrate Challenge #108....

School is back in session and I'm DECORATING my son's teacher's room with this little Back To School Celebratory gift...hehehehehe.

We always go to "Meet the Teacher" a few days before school starts. I like this for a couple of reasons, one of the being that it makes the 1st day a little less awkward for the kids since they've already met their teacher...another reason being that I get to scope out the Teacher's Room and see how she decorates...what color scheme does she have...what's her style. This year's teacher LOVES grays and teals so I made her this little basket....

Both of the gifts were super simple to do but this box of crayons was the simplest...literally took me 15 minutes. I bought a bunch of Crayola 24-count crayon boxes (I think 4 fit in this jar), emptied them in then tied a ribbon around. I thought about labeling it somehow but decided not to so she can do whatever she wants with it later.
My next "gift" was this marquis D from Heidi Swapp! I've been soooooo wanting to do some of these for my scrap studio but haven't had the time. After doing this one little letter, I'm definitely hooked...I'm not scrambling to think of a 4 or 5 letter word that will fit on the fireplace in my studio.
I used CTMH Basic Fundamental Cardstock in Slate for the D and then used the teal heart washi to add a little somethin-somethin to the outside and inside of the D. I love how it turned out and so did she!

Thanks for stopping by!!! Don't forget to go visit the DTC Blog and see what the other DT girls did for Challenge #108 Anything Goes! You can link up too if you'd like!!!

My Favorite Peeps with Let's Scrap...

It's the 1st of the month which means it's time for a NEW Let's Scrap Sketch...AND some special announcements concerning the Design Team. I'm so honored to be on for another term...LOVE the Let's Scrap Sketches and can't wait to show you what the next 6 months has in store for you guys!

Here's my take on the sketch...let me just say that this layout might be one of my FAVORITES!!! Not only are some of "my FAVORITE peeps" featured on this layout but it also gives me those wonderful, glorious squares that are a perfect fit for all my Instagram Photos AND all the other squares are perfect for all those tiny embellishments I've been hoarding...uhhhhh, I mean saving for a layout such as this!

Here's a look at the sketch!

Don't forget to head over to the Let's Scrap Blog and check out all the other DT's artwork AND link up!

And...we have UNITY Stamp Company as our Sponsor this week!

Love with all your might...

It's a new month and that means a NEW Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge!!!

I decided to do a OTP (Off The Page) project this month. This necklace was inspired by this month's Scripture Focus...

Have you ever tried  making your own jewelry with scrapbooking supplies you have lying around? It's super simple! While I used actual CTMH Supplies meant for these pendants, you could easily trim any sticker into a square and add any flat embellishments to the square then add your clear protective 'bubble'.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to go check out the other DT Members' projects AND take a look at this month's sketches.
