Cherish the Moment Blog Hop...

I cannot believe that April is already over!!!  Time flies as you get older and, this week, I turned a year older so time is really flying by.
----------------------------
This month's Blog Hop has over 60 Consultants participating and is somewhat a sneak-peek at the NEW product from the NEW Summer 2010 Idea Book which goes live TODAY!!!  Call you Consultant or slip me an e-mail to get your hands on one of these ASAP...it's full of FANTASTIC new products as well as some GREAT artwork...in fact, check out my SON on page 53...he's the soccer "star" in the upper right layout!
---------------------------
On to the stuff you came here for....

This stamp set has 8 images and is a general-purpose set that you will use over and over again!!!

If you've come here from Nancy's Blog, you're on the right track...if you get lost along the way, you can visit Helen's Blog to get a complete list of "hoppers".

This month, I chose to do a pattern from Wishes.  The card measures 4-1/2" x 3" and I made it a "congratulations" card for a new baby!!!  I used Topstitch Paper Packet, Bamboo Cardstock (LOVE that it looks like the "craft" color that's so popular right now), Colonial White Cardstock and Baby Pink Cardstock...I used Colonial White Ribbon Rounds, Cocoa InkSparkles, Love Letters Rub-ons (Chocolate) to spell "BABY" and 3-D Foam Tape

-------------------------------
I used our Watercolor Pencils and Blending Pen to make the blue background behind "BABY"...I handwrote "new" with My Legacy Writers

That's all I've got for you this month...

Hop on over to SUSAN'S BLOG and see what she has to share!!!

H2H4 Challenge...RIBBON!!!

Another week means another Challenge over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog!!!  This week's challenge is to use at least 2 DIFFERENT RIBBONS!!!  Who doesn't LOVE ribbon....now's the perfect time to show us what you can do with it!

Here's what I did with the "challenge"...if you ask me, the only "challenge" was WHICH COLOR :0)

---------------------------------
I made the flower by freehanding a circle on a piece of B&T from my all-time favorite, Notebook Paper Packet...I then stacked about 5 or 6 B&T's underneath (some from Notebook and others from another all-time favorite, Game On)...cut out using a "wavy pattern" with my scissors...secured with a brad and started crumpling...I added a button for the Mini-Medley Accents Colonial White (had TONS left over from my Miracle Kit)...again using the Embroidery Floss Neutral Assortment (Black)...I freehanded the words "thank you" all around the flower for my sentiment.
---------------------------------------
My 2 different ribbons are at the bottom of the card...the 1st is the Black Grosgrain Floral Ribbon (I used the backside) that comes in the Designer Ribbon Rounds - Black Collection...and the 2nd is the Colonial White Crocheted Ribbon that's layered on top...it comes in the Designer Ribbon Rounds - Colonial  White Collection.  I stitched the ribbon together using the Embroidery Floss Neutral Assortment (Colonial white)...made the 'ruffled' part as I went stitching the flaps together so they would hold.
-----------------------------
I don't always photograph the insides of my cards but I thought I would show you what this one looks like...I think it's so important to dress up the inside just like you do the outside...it just makes for a nicer presdentation!

I hope you've enjoyed my take on this weeks H2H Challenge...be sure to play along by creating you own artwork and linking back to the H2H Blog using Mr. Linky (complete rules are on  my sidebar or on the H2H Blog).

In the meantime, dont't forget to check out the other Design Team Members' Blogs and see what they've done with the RIBBON Challenge!!!

H2H3 Sketch Challenge...

Welcome back to this week's Heart 2 Heart (H2H) Challenge...this week's challenge is to use the following sketch:
Here's what I did with it....a 6" x 6" card (with sketch rotated a bit) using National Scrapbook Day's Kit, Miracle!!  The Miracle kit is only availabe 'till May 31st or while supplies last.  Click here to read more and see what else I did with it or check out my website for more details.  I coupled the Kit with the color Blush and used Childhood Portrait stamp set.  The thing I love most about this Kit is the Bamboo reminds me of "craft" that is so popular right now and the Sweet Leaf and Crystal Blue are PERFECTly paired together.

--------------------------------------
Now...let's see what you can do with this sketch!!!  Make sure you link your artwork back to the main H2H Blog.  This week we have a sponsor...Diane Cook!!!  In order to win the goodies, you need to have your artwork linked back to the main H2H Blog by next Sunday (full details are on my sidebar) and you must follow the Sketch AND use CTMH products (if you dont' know where to get your hands on some....let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you out!!!)

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Tea and see what wonderful things they did with this sketch:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NINI!!!!

Today is my Nini's Birthday...she's the most WONDERFUL Aunt anyone could have!

She had two sons so she tended to spoil my sister and I.  I love her as if she were my own!!!

She's an "outdoorsy" type person and LOVES the dark Autumn/Winter colors...if it were up to her and my Uncle, they would move to Colorado or somewhere mountainous!!!

This card is for her (from my Mother)...

-------------------------------------
I used the heart and the lips to make it a little girly (added Liquid Glass after I took the photo)....

Inside of the card....isnt' that owl the CUTEST!!!

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #2

1st of all...thanks to all who played along last week...wasn't that FUN!!!  I had the pleasure of viewing each and everyone's artwork and I was amazed at how different they all were being that everyone had the same challenge!!!
---------------------------------------------------
This week's Challenge is to use:

  • 1 stamped image (ok...I fudged a little and used one stamp "set")

  • 2 different B&T papers

  • 3 embellishments (can be all the same or 3 different)
Here's what I came up with...

------------------------------
For the stamp, I chose to use Star Power (LOVE those guitars!!!)...for my 2 different B&T papers, I chose to use 2 from different paper packets...the 1st and more prominent B&T (Indian Corn Blue and Outdoor Denim Polka Dot) comes from the You Rock Paper Packet and the 2nd one comes from Emporium (what my stars are stamped on)...and finally, for my 3 embelishments: White Hemp (behind the focal piece as well as the strings of the middle guitar), Bitty Sparkles (on the flourishes of the middle guitar) and Prisma Glitter (on all the stars).

------------------------------------------
Thanks for stopping by and don't foget to visit the other Design Team Members' Blogs and see what wonderful stamps, B&T and embellishments they used!!!

Also...don't forget to play along!  All the "rules" are on my sidebar...we'd LOVE to see your take on Challenge #2!!!

Studio J...

"What's Studio J", you ask...it's the thing that had me mesmerized for about 3.5 hours...the thing that allows me to still HOARD all my ribbon and buttons (c'mon, you know you do it too)...the thing that helped me finish T's 2nd Birthday Party Layouts in a few short hours...the thing that saved me from making numerous trips to the store to get enlargements of my photos (in fact it saved me having to even print my photos)...the NEW REVOLUTIONARY program from CTMH!!!

Consultants were given the opportunity to play with the program before it goes live to our customers (SOON!!!) and I took advantage of the opportunity!

Here are a few of the layouts I completed (you should be able to click on the picture and enlarge it)...make sure you notice the ribbon, brads and buttons...look real, huh!?!?!

I also threw some in of DD at one of his soccer games...

Easy Peasy and now all I have to do is put them in albums!!!

DISCLAIMER (for all you Hoarders out there): No ribbon was cut during this process...no buttons were glued during this process and no B&T/Cardstock was used during this process.

Happy Easter....

We had a WONDERFUL Easter weekend...enjoying the Spring weather and all of the activities that Easter brings...church with all of my family, easter egg hunts, food and fun at my Mother's house...

-----------------------------------
This year's Easter Egg Hunt was so much fun...TK actually grasped the concept of getting as many eggs as he can.  Last year, he picked up one egg and wouldn't let go of it...lol.
---------------------------------------------
I also want to share with you what awaited us at home when we returned from my Mother's that evening...this is the wreath I have on our door...

--------------------------------------------------
This is the bird nest we've been watching a bird build for the past couple of days....
----------------------------------------------
This is what was laid sometime between Easter Eve and Easter Evening...
Isn't that the perfect example of new beginnings and HIS promise to us!!! AWESOME!!!
