H2H Tool Time: Vellum...

Another week and another year older for me!!!

This week over at the H2H Challenge Blog we're featuring VELLUM and want you to do the same!

There are a TON of uses for Vellum but I chose to use the most common (to my uses, I guess)...softening a background so your focal piece can stand out more.

I used the soon-to-be-retiring GIMME SOME SUGAR paper pack to create this card and while the wood-grain background piece isn't very overwhelming, I wanted something to break the piece up. This is where the Vellum came in...as you can see, I only used it on the top 1/3 of the card and used my Marvy Journaling Pen to doodle around the edges so you could definitely get the 'break up in pattern' that I wanted.

Vellum can sometimes be hard to adhere to your artwork..the majority of the adhesive used is hidden behind my flowers but I did put tiny dots of Liquid Glass in the corners...to hide that, I doodled. Stamping on Vellum can also be hard so I chose to use a tiny stamp set available only to CTMH Consultant and stamped my sentiment off the Vellum...

Framed with H2H...

This week's H2H Challenge is FRAMED...I love this challenge because you're going to see so many takes on this...I have a feeling!

I decided to use a PML card (Pocket Scrapbooking - CTMH style) to make a recruiting card I'm sending to a sweet lady who has displayed interest in joining my CTMH Team...April is a FABULOUS month to do so by the way!

This card is using one of the FREE stamp sets a NEW Consultant gets when they reach the Straight to the Top Level 1 in their first 30 days. The pre-printed PML card from Gimme Some Sugar made this card come together sooooo easily!

And...by adding a little SPARKLE to the heart using my Clear Shimmer Brush, the card goes from ehhh to OMGSH...lol. The arrow and squiggly line under the Bashful heart are from this month's SOTM - Color Your Life...

And, I even added a sweet little sentiment (LOVE the brushstroke that comes with this stamp set...what a GREAT way to visually close that sentiment off!)

I want to share one of the layouts that is included in my Gimme Some Sugar Layout Workshop. I love to use the PML Cards that come with each Paper Packet to add sentiments, jounaling blocks and embellishments to my layouts...if you're a regular follower of my artwork, I hardly ever use anything as it's intended...lol

I tied a bow using the Peacock Stitched Ribbon that comes with the Gimme Some Sugar WYW - LOVE the feel of this ribbon...it's so soft and ties so easily! I brought over the Gimme Some Sugar Complements and Cork Shapes from the left side to balance the two pages...

Beautiful Story with Rainbows & H2H...

What a WEEKEND (and Spring Break for us)...sometimes I feel like all we do is go, go, go!!!

Any-who...I've been looking forward to today so I can play along with this week's H2H Challenge which is all about RAINBOWS!

This layout is of a 7-yr old photo I've been wanting to do something with...it's of me, one of my best friends Angela and her Mother who was my minister in High School...she even co-officiated our wedding!

This layout is FULL of color and patterns...I think I used every paper packet (except Fundamentals and the NEW upcoming "secret" paper packet that will come out SOON)...I also grabbed some stamps sets...current and retired!

I loved digging out my retired Little Dreamer stamp set for the sentiments at the top of my photo! They're perfect for multiple reasons...2 of which are - I believe in Heaven we get to do the impossible and I believe that all these things exist AND we need to LIVE before we die...run the race, buy the shoes, tell him you love him, take the chances before our time is up! You also get a sneak peek of my hidden journalling...I hide most of my journalling, some is blatant like this and others not so much. I like to be REALLY PERSONAL with my journalling so I hide it...

You can't tell now but this top left corner of my photo had a LONG Peacock Ink Line from my block...one of the reasons I LOVE EMBELLISHMENTS is they hide all the imperfections...lol

I even used one of our Thin Cuts that is a part of the DIE-NAMITE sale going on 'till the end of March...how CUTE is that banner!!!! It was perfect spot for my date (the date stamp only went back to 2012 and then had a 20__ which I had to write in "11"....lol LOOK at those tiny stars...that is from the Little Dreamer - Scrapbooking Stamp Set...LOVE them AND it's a part of the Thin Cuts DIE-NAMITE sale right now!!!
