Something Splendid Blog Hop....

Welcome to another SOTM Blog Hop...this month, we have over 60 Consultants participating which means you get to see over 60 DIFFERENT takes on the August SOTM, Something Splendid.

If you came from Laurie's Blog, you're on the right track....if you get lost along the way, head on over to Helen's Blog and she has a complete list of hoppers.

Here's the ADORABLE set we're working with....

Here's what I did with it....8" x 3-1/2" card using Black, Blush, White Daisy and a sneak peek at something NEW!!!

------------------
I used some of CTMH's retired beads from the Baby Pink and Black My Accents...tied them on the Natural Hemp (LOVE this stuff)....
----------------
I used my Versamark Ink Pad and Clear Embossing Powder to emboss the strip of Black Cardstock on the left...

------------------------
Here's a view to try and show the pop-dotted, embossed centers of the flowers....
----------------------
Inside of the card...

Closeup of the flower...clear embossed on Black Cardstock...

Don't forget to hop on over to Michelle's Blog and see what she's done with the SUPER CUTE stamp set.

If you can't live without this stamp set (like me) then contact your Consultant before the month of August is over and tell her to hook a girl up...if you don't have a Consultant, leave me a comment and I'll tell you how to get this set at a super bargain and maybe even FREE!!!

S'MORES box for my sister...

My sister's family LOVES camping...she, not so much, but she does love that my BIL does all the cooking by campfire and my niece and nephew LOVE S'Mores!!!

They are going on their last camping trip of the Summer so I made them this cute box using Rustic Trail (retired but one of my favorite "outdoorsy" paper packets!!!)...I got the inspiration here but didn't have an extra tin so I decided to use this....a to-go box from McAlisters (they catered our NSD All-Day Crop and I saved my box)....you'll notice that my top is already decorated...it was an after-thought that I might need to take a picture of the "original" first...lol

----------------------
Here's the finished product....I free-handed the twig and cut out of Cocoa Cardstock and sanded...the marshmallow is a 1" x 1-1/4" piece of White Daisy Cardstock....I just rounded the edges with my scissors and ink distressed with Cocoa Ink and a Sponge Dauber

------------------------
I just had to decorate a clothes-pin for my sister to use just in case they don't eat all the marshmallows....

CTMH Convention Day 6...

We're up and ready to enjoy our last day!!!
------------------------
Sylvia...
-----------------------
and, Pam...

--------------------------
It rained most of the morning and into the early afternoon...

------------------------
we toured the inside of the Gaylord and took pictures of the fountain...
----------------------
This year CTMH had a room set up where you could view all the artwork for the NEW Idea Book as well as the current Idea Book (Summer 2010).  I cannot express in words how AWESOME this artwork is...the Idea Books do not begin to capture the details that are put into each and every piece that is pictureds. Look what I found in the current IB section....my son is found on a layout on page 53 so I had to get my picture taken with the layout since they wouldn't let me take it home :0(

Closing Banquet...
YUMMY FOOD!!!!

Food at the Closing Banquet....this was a red pepper soup and it was FANTASTIC!!!!

-----------------
This was some sort of carmel (RICH) with chocolate on top, crumbled brownie and peach stuff (for the life of me I can't think of a good name...lol)  It was yummy but really RICH...even the coffee.
----------------------
This guy is a true artist....I so wish I had an "early picture" of this painting he was doing of Jeanette but for the longest, I couldn't even tell what he was doing...it was much like those paintings you buy and you have stand back and cross your eyes to see the "real picture"....it was like that...once it clicked to our table what he was painting, I dug my camera out and this is the earliest shot I could get.
---------------------
Here he is putting on some final touches....

H2H Color Challenge....

Well...this challenge is bitter sweet being that this is the last challenge for the current DT and next week, a new DT will take over!

Here are the colors...

This week's color challenge really reminded me of Valentines or love...but it's a little too early for all that and since this weekend, the Texas temparatures were near the 100s, I decided to go with ICE CREAM.  This is a 5x7 gift card holder that is just adhered shut except for a small space perfect for the Sonic card (wish the colors matched...lol)....

I dry embossed the Creme Brulee cardstock then sanded it to resemble a waffle cone...I stamped the clouds from Childhood for the ice cream scoops....Vineyard Berry ink on Blush Cardstock...I had to add some "chocolate" to the ice cream so I topped it with a Chocolate button from CTMH'S Basic Craft Buttons and tied a bow using some bulk Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon (retired).

Don't forget to create you own card or layout and show us your project by linking it directly to the main H2H Blog using Mr. Linky.

Also...don't forget to visit the other DT members and see what crafty thing they have to share this week!!!  Make their day by telling them how much you're going to miss them as they will be departing the H2H DT as well.
