Let's Get Geometrical Technique Blog Hop...

I am SO EXCITED about his month's Technique Blog Hop...thank you for joining us! The topic is LET'S GET GEOMETRICAL and I can't wait for you all to see what we have to share!

If you've come from my good friend (and upline's) blog, Melissa Robinson, you're on the right track...keep on hopping around until you get back to where you started. If you're starting here, WELCOME!

When this topic came up, I knew exactly what I would be doing. I've made a couple of shaped layouts in the past and while they aren't something I would want to do very often, they are SUPER FUN to make AND to look at when you're flipping through scrapbooks! Today's layout plays on the geometrical challenge as well as the Sweet As Honey collection I chose to use!

I decided to use Sweet As Honey to document more of our trip to see our oldest son in Virginia. I used a BUNCH of stuff for this layout but it all seems to mesh perfectly...even the Here & Now Stamp Set that I brought in...

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some closeups of the clusters of Distress Oxide Stenciled Hexagons, Black Reinker Splatters, Cork Shapes, Stickers and Black Enamel Dots...I love all the different textures and dimension that they all give to the layout...

------------------------------------------------------------
Aren't those bees from the Sweet as Honey Cardmaking Stamp Set CUTE...

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you'd like to watch this layout come together, scroll down to see the process video on my YouTube Channel.

Your next stop in the LET'S GET GEOMETRICAL TECHNIQUE BLOG HOP is Brandi...head on over and see what she has to share! If you get lost along the way, head on over to Melissa's Blog for a complete list of CTMH Makers who are playing along!

Don't forget to come back here to watch my YouTube Process Video showing a SUPER EASY way to make that hexagon layout base!

Created to Shine SOTM Blog Hop...

Repeat after me...I CANNOT BELIEVE IT'S NOVEMBER...truly!

But...that means HOPEFULLY cooler weather (you're never promised that in Texas) and THIS ADORABLE SOTM from CTMH!

I am joining 10 other CTMH Makers to bring you ideas for the November SOTM - Created to Shine. If you're coming from my friend, Haley Dyer, the Inky Scrapper, you're on the right track. If you're starting here, WELCOME! You'll hop all the way around until you get back to where you started and if you get lost along the way, you can find a complete list at the bottom of this post.

I decided to play on the lightbulb aspect of this card and I pulled out my Distress Oxides to make a watercolor look for the lightbulb "lights"...

----------------------------------------------------
I used the packaging technique to apply the Distress Oxide colors to my front card panel (you can check out the process video below)...
----------------------------------------------------------
And then OF COURSE I had to finish off the inside of the card with that ADORABLE heart border that is also a part of the SOTM...

Day 9: Love Your Stash - Embellishments - BFFs...

Today is Day 9 of the LOVE YOUR STASH YouTube Series...during the month of February, the Creative Design Team is challenging you to LOVE YOUR STASH with us.

Here's a look at today's Layout (video is at the end of this post) using all my embellishments (hahahahaha - let's be honest, that is NOT POSSIBLE but I can try).

----------------------------------------------------
I used the Sweet Safari Cricut Collection for the clouds/stars and the rainbow (just spliced it so it is only 1/2 of a rainbow). The right photo is a flip-flap so it allowed me to have a total of THREE PHOTOS. ***I also used the February 2021 SOTM - Doodle Borders on the outside of the red-polka-dot rainbow arc...see those cute little arrows!
---------------------------------------------------------
Everything is better with SHIMMER BRUSHES, right! I added a little Lemonade Shimmer to the stars and I LOVE how the stars look against the background I created with Distress Oxide Inks...
--------------------------------------------------
I used several current paper packs - Sweet Safari, Happiness Lives Here and the Mix-In (Jan-Feb)

Thank you for stopping by...here is the process video...I would LOVE to have you head on over to YouTube to watch (click on the video instead of watching here so you can like and leave a comment).

Perfect Match Blog Hop...

Welcome to this month's blog hop featuring the PERFECT MATCH Special which is available NOW thru the end of February 2021 on my website.

I am joining 18 other CTMH Maker's to bring you tons of inspiration featuring this GORGEOUS collection. If you've come from Maureen's Blog, you're on the right track...keep hopping around until you get back to where you started. If you're starting here, WELCOME. There's a link to a complete list at the very bottom of this post in case you get lost along the way.

Let's take a look at the one-page layout I made featuring this collection...as you can see, my layout is all about my hunny but we are at the beach in the Summer (NOTHING to do with Valentines...lol). I also started with a sketch from Citrus Twist Kits which is a PERFECT jumpstart to creativity...

-----------------------------------------------------
I LOVED using the Sticker Sheet that comes with the Perfect Match Paper Packet to add some little subtitles here and there. The Mini-Hearts go PERFECTLY with the heart stamped image I used from the Perfect Match Stamp Set...
-------------------------------------------------
I chose to use a couple of stencils from the Stencil Pack 3 and our Distress Oxide Inks to create a nice little XOXO backdrop for my journaling lines (you can see how I did this in my YouTube video below)...

Thanks for stopping by...head on over to Michelle's Blog to see what PERFECT thing she has to share. Don't forget to check out my process video if you'd like to see how this layout came together.

Plastic Patterns - Technique Blog Hop...

It's almost Friday, y'all!!! And...it's already the MIDDLE OF OCTOBER which means we are at the end of the September/October Supplemental Catalog and well into the 2020-2021 Core Catalog. I mention the Core Catalog because on Page 81, there are some NEW pre-designed stencil sheets that we are featuring in this Plastic Patterns Technique Blog Hop this evening!

We have ten CTMH Consultants playing along this month so it won't take you long to hop through and get tons of inspiration! If you're coming from Brandi's Blog, you're on the right track...keep hopping around until you get back to where you started. If you're starting here, WELCOME!

Let's take a look at the card I made using Stencil Pack 3. I LOVE this Stencil Pack because one of the 12 x 12 stencil sheets actually has NINE LITTLE SQUARES that can be used all by themselves, which is what I did here!

------------------------------------------------------
I used the polka dot pattern from Stencil Pack 3 and our NEW Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral. Using my multi-purpose mat made the clean up SUPER EASY and our NEW Mini-Blending tool made it a little less messy on my fingers!
-------------------------------------------------------
After my polka dots were set, I used the same color and my Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink to sponge over the card front, blending in the line between the two...
-------------------------------------------------
I finished the card off with an oval cut using the Comfort & Joy - Cardmaking Stamp Set & Thin Cuts. I LOVE that I can pull shapes from my Thin Cuts that come with my stamp sets and use them all by themselves. I also pulled out my Simple Serif Thin Cuts to cut my sentiment...a simple HI (we all need cards that say that!) I just used the Thin Cuts but you can also use the stamp set to stamp your letters on top of the Thin Cuts...sooooo COOL!!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hop on over to Alyson's Blog and see what PLASTIC PATTERNS she is using this evening!

Don't forget, if you get lost along the way, you can always visit Melissa's Blog for a complete list of hoppers!

Got Candy? and Stencils - with H2H....

This week over on the H2H Challenge Blog, it's all about STENCILS!!!

CTMH has MANY STENCILS to choose from and you can even make your own using our Stencil Paper.

I chose to take one of our pre-made stencils and make this one-page layout using the Got Candy? Special...

---------------------------------------------------------
Here's a closeup of the stenciling. I took the Stencil Pack 3 and cut apart all the different squares (you can leave whole and use but I thought it would be more manageable to cut them apart since that's how I will probably be using them anyway). I laid it on my cardstock base then used my mini-blending tool to sponge Black Soot Distress Oxide ink all over.

Don't forget to head on over to the H2H Blog and see what the other DT Members have to share! You can play along with us, using stencils and at least one identifiable CTMH product before the end of October!
