Life's Delight Artwork

This paper packet took a while to try out (all the girly colors and I'm an all-boy mother) and I'm so sorry I waited!! This has become, not only one of my favorite paper packets, but another one of my favorite color combos. The layouts are a part of TK's Album and include some pregnancy pictures, "birth" day pictures of my niece CJW (only born 15 days before TK) and some of TK. There is also a 2-page spread of him rolling over and laughing....the cards, I absolutely adore!!! (original post April 21, 2008)

Express Postage....

It's so funny to look at these pages since it was documenting TK turning 6 months old and learning how to sit, etc....he's now almost TWO YEARS OLD!!!! They grow up so fast! I hope you enjoy today's blast from the past....it was a FUN color combo ( Original Post - March 25, 2008).

Boy....it's been a while! With moving and the new house and all, I've hardly had time to "create". I took all day Friday as "my time" and spent the day with close friends and created the following.

All supplies are CTMH items except some brown gingham and polka dot ribbon.....LOTS of distressing which is especially nice since our cardstock has the white core. Colors are Breeze, Chocolate, Blush, Sweet Leaf and/or White Daisy & Colonial White. Stamp set is the April SOTM - Express Postage and is a SUPER verstile set.

Free Spirit B-Day Card

I made this card last night after being inspired by Pam Bassett and her "ribbon blossoms". She has a GREAT tutorial on there, although I'm not sure I did it quite the way I was supposed to, but it turned out cute anyway.

To bide the time....

Since I'm "inoperable" at the moment because the window behind my paper storage began leaking last week with all the rain we received (MUCH thanks given to God!!) and now all my paper (1/2 of which is damaged) is in piles in the middle of my scrapbook room, I've decided to start reposting old artwork to bide the time. I will start with art posted January 1, 2008 and go 'till I have something NEW to post. Thanks for hanging in there with me!!!

I decided to do something a little different by using the cake pieces as candles. I only used the polka-dot stamp and stamped it using Sunflower, Holiday Red, Twilight & Clover Meadow (same colors as in the paper packet, Tinkerin') I distressed my ribbon using Holiday Red Ink and one of the Foam Tools and rounded the bottom corners. This card actually measures 4-1/2 x 6 which is pretty close to a standard size card.

This is a view of the card from the side....I stamped the flames and punched out circles then trimmed to a point using my Micro-Tip Scissors.

Here's the inside of the card....I did something different here as well by stamping the cake pieces end-to-end to create a border of sorts (it's hard to tell on the lines but you can see the seams on the Holiday Red, wavy border). Furthermore, I used the backside of the flame resembling * to stamp the circles. That's one of the benefits of acrylic stamps....you can manipulate them by bending or arching the stamps, cutting phrases apart and, in this instance, using the backside for something as simple as a polka-dot. I also corner rounded the White Daisy Cardstock piece to tie the front and inside together visually. The border isn't as crooked as it seems, I think it's just the way the card is tilted.

Here are some more projects I have made using this Stamp of the Month... same colors and of course CTMH's Archival Black Ink (LOVE that stuff)! This is a 6x6 card from Wishes called Layered Look (in the book it's supposed to be a 3x3 card but the beauty of it all is you can make it any size you want...SUPER EASY especially if you stick to a square card!!). There's piercing at the top of the card but you have to look close (didn't get a very good photo).

I used the cake pieces again end-to-end to create the present...I hid the seams with the ribbon (shhhhh!). I stamped the "BIRTHDAY" and then cut the letters apart using my Micro-Tip Scissors and adhered to the back of my focal piece. I staggered them to add character!! Stamped "PARTY", cut a circle in my card-front using my circle colluzzle and was done!

I used the same products as above but added Twilight Grosgrain Ribbon from Twilight Ribbon Rounds Collection, Paper Piercer, Circle Colouzzle and Edge Distresser. I also used the actual Tinkerin' Paper Packet.
