My Sunshine Blog Hop...

It's April which means it's time for another hop and this one is going to be WONDERFUL!!!

The stamp set is ADORABLE!!!

If you've come from Shirley's Blog, you're on the right track...keep hopping 'till you get back around to you started.

I absolutely LOVE this card...it's so bright and cheery!!!  It's a 5x7 card using Tommy and Claire Paper Packets (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE mixing paper!).  The inks were Sunset, Honey & Lagoon.  My card was totally inspired by a card I saw in an e-mail I got from Northridge Publishing!

----------------------------------------
Here are some closeups...I pop-dotted the sun (by the way...all the stamped pieces were cut using the Artiste Cartridge!!!
-----------------------------------
Here's a look at the stitching of the ribbon...

I used this sketch from My Favorite Things (MFT)

Thanks for hopping by...

H2H Egg-Cited for Easter...

Is everyone ready for Easter?

We are at our house!

Not only is it a time for us, as Christians, to celebrate the ONLY FREE THING IN LIFE, which is Salvation, but this week is very BUSY for our family!  We have birthdays, playoff soccer games, days off and CELEBRATIONS!

H2H is celebrating too by featuring a very "Egg-Cited for Easter" challenge...

Here's my take on the challenge...a 6x6 canvas using the CTMH Cricut Artiste and Chantilly Textiles...I stitched around him much like I do my hand-made onesies and made him eyes, a nose and some whiskers with some black thread!

Here are some closeups...

----------------------------------
I thought about adding a "cotton tail" but didn't like anything I put up there...see one of my options below.

Don't forget...you have 'till the 31st to play along with any of the March challenges AND you have 'till the end of the month to do these things in order to be in a drawing to win your very own Chantilly Textiles!

Lubbock Coronado - "The BLOCK for a TOUCHDOWN"...

Another game...another set of layouts!

These are probably some of my favorite!!!

---------------------------------
You see...my son is a wide-receiver but he also has to BLOCK when he doesn't get the ball.  After the 99-yd Touchdown, coaches from opposing teams had him heavily guarded so that opened up some of the Slot Receivers (that's a fancy word for inside receivers...lol).  The layout below documents a block that lead to a touchdown and the camera man got each frame which made this mamma VERY HAPPY!!!

------------------------------------
Here are some close-ups...Keyland is #2 (the black jersey) and he's blocking #20 (the white jersey)...you can't really see his number so just watch for #20 and Keyland is right there!

---------------------------------
here are some close-ups of the embellishment details...

---------------------------------
Since this was a two-page spread but told one story, I wanted the reader's eyes to know where to go.  I used a Dimensional Element arrow from a retired set to help do just that...

Scotts Valley, CA - Football Layouts...

To take advantage of Studio J's $5 deal, I've been playing catch-up on some of Keyland's (my oldest son who will graduate in June from high school) high school activities.

I went through to see what is already done and what still needs to be done so I'm not repeating myself.

I found these layouts from a Retreat I attended last November but never got around to posting...

These layouts are one of the many reasons I still, and always will, enjoy traditional scrapbooking!  But...I will have no hesitation putting my Studio J layouts in front of or behind any of these traditional layouts!

This is my "title page" for this game!  I have one of these for each game - complete with opponent, date and score (the little star represents US!!!)...
-------------------------------------------
Here's the two page spread...that's my baby, making a 99-yd touchdown on the OPENING KICKOFF OF THE GAME!!!  The layout on the left is the newspaper article and the layout on the right is showcasing the photo I purchased from the newspaper...
-----------------------------------
Close-up of my border I stamped...
----------------------------------------
Close-up of my baby...can't ever get enough of good quality photos!!!

----------------------------
I used CTMH's Flip Flaps to make this fold open...this was WONDERFUL for this Newspaper Article because it was so long and I was able to fit it all on this double-page layout!
---------------------------------
This is a picture of both teams together after the game.  You don't normally see this in High School football but since this wasn't a District Game or anything it worked!  I also think that this will be a memory for Keyland for the rest of his life and to have this photo in with all his other accomplishments will make him smile about this opportunity!

I'll share more layouts from his book in the coming days...gotta get y'all to come back ya know...lol!

March Madness meets H2H Challenges...

Who's ready for some basketball?????

Who's ready for some PRIZES?????  That's more like it!!!

This month, H2H Challenges, has teamed up with the rest of the world and will be celebrating March Madness!  HOWEVER, H2H is not talking about dribbling, rebounding and scoring...no, no...we're talking about stamping, cutting and PLAYING!!!!

First, here's how the H2H March Madness will work. You have to play to win, and of course you need to follow the challenge guidelines along with the prize eligibility guidelines! You MUST be an H2H follower too.

Our first prize is for a first-time H2H player! We're looking for someone who joins us for the very first time ever. From Millan.NetTo be eligible for this prize, you must NOT be a current Close To My Heart consultant, you need to follow the challenge guidelines, AND you must leave a comment in our comment section of that challenge telling us it's your first time participating at H2H challenges. (One randomly-selected lucky newbie will win!)

Our other two prizes will be given to the (1) CTMH consultant and the (2) non-consultant who participates the most in March!
From Millan.Net Every time you link up, add a number with your name to help us keep track of the number of times you play, starting with your second time in March. So, my second entry might look like "Angela #2" in the linky. If you don't number your entries, we won't be able to count you for the prize. (In the event of a tie, multiple prizes will be awarded.)

To add to the fun, several of our Design Team members will be offering prizes on their blogs, but you'll have to visit them to find out! It will be like an Easter egg hunt to find out who has a special giveaway, so don't spill the beans in the comments section!
From Millan.Net
Be sure to check out the details of each DT's projects this month, because you never know when one of us announces a special prize only available through our personal blogs. Each Monday when the new challenge is announced on H2H, click on each of the Design Team members' names to go to their blogs and check them out. You're going to have quite a few chances to get lucky!
----------------------------------------------------
I will be giving away a prize NEXT week when it's my turn to play.  In the meantime, go check out the "Spring Forward" Challenge and play along to be eligible for one of the prizes mentioned above!

*****IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BLOG**** and want to participate, let me know and I can help you out by posting your artwork to my blog!

Spring Virtual Swap - Stampers from the Heart...

Our theme for this month's Stampers From the Heart Virtual Swap is SPRING...that includes:
  • St. Patrick's Day
  • Easter
  • flowers
  • rain, etc.
We could create anything our heart desired...card, layout, Cricut projects, etc.
------------------------------------------------
Here were the product requirements...
*You may use ANY current products available.
Here are the product restrictions...
*No retired products allowed.
*No Stamp of the Month stamp sets allowed.
-------------------------------------------------

I chose to do a Studio J layout AND a Card - do you believe me when I say that I only stamped once and cut once AND that my card focal point is ALSO ON my Studio J Layout!?!?!?!?  OK...OK...let me show you what I'm talking about!

Here's my Studio J Layout...the pictures are from Easter 2010...(you can click on the photo to see it larger)...

And...here's my card...

Notice anything similar about the two???  You guessed it!

Stamping on your Studio J layouts:
  • Stamp your piece
  • Take a picture or scan
  • Add to your Studio J layout in a photo well just like you would a picture
  • VIOLA!!!  A stamped piece that will be printed on your Studio J layout!
Here are some close-ups of the card and a little picture tutorial on how to add a "rosette tail" to your bunny...

The inside....

How to take apart your Rosette Ribbon:
  • Start cutting the ribbon part from the mesh backing much like you would when ripping a seam
  • This is what it should like when you're done...
  • Poke a hole in your bunny's tail...
  • Feed one end of the Rosette Ribbon through the hole and tape the to the back of the focal piece using scotch tape...
  • You can't see this part but I tied a tiny knot with the front part of the ribbon then squirted liquid glass on the tail and started "scrunching and pushing down" so the liquid glass would adhere it...here's a close-up of the finished product...

Please visit all the blogs below and see what "SPRINGY" creation they've come up with:
A little tidbit...I've been able to get 3 projects from one Cricut cut

The top two cards are using the 'negative' of the cut above on my Chantilly Layouts
