June SOTM Blog Hop....Wonderful Friend

****Click here if you're looking for the H2H Challenge Post***
----------------------------
Another month gone and another Blog Hop is here!!!

This month, we're celebrating the men in our lives by thanking them for being wonderful DADS!!!  There are over 65 Consultants participating this month so that means you'll have a LOT of wonderful artwork to pour over and get ideas from.

If you've come from Dawn's Blog, you're on the right track.  If you get lost along the way, you can always go back to Kathleen's Blog for a complete list of hoppers this month.
--------------------------------
I fell in LOVE with this stamp set and I think it was all because of the argyle print...it's so "IN" right now and I couldn't wait to try it out.  I've also been playing around with some color combos and decided that this one would be perfect for the occasion since today is Memorial Day (THANK YOU to all the men and women serving and protecting our freedoms....what you all do truely brings tears to my eyes!!!)
------------------------
Here's my card (5x7)...

----------------------
Using Desert Sand and Bamboo Cardstock, You Rock Paper Packet (the Outdoor Denim B&T), Cranberry Grosgrain Ribbon, some retired Cranberry Sparkles and Desert Sand Ink...

------------------------
I think my QT is going to LOVE this card....and the BEST THING is that it's already DONE!!!  One less thing on my LOOONNNNNNGGGGGG "to-do" list this month!!!

Don't forget to hop on over to JAMIA'S BLOG...I've already checked out her SUPER CUTE stuff and you'll LOVE it!!!

H2H9 - Sketch Challenge

So...this week's challenge is to use the sketch below

LOVED this sketch and what all the design team did with it....and loved having our guest DT member, Deneen, join us!!!

Here's what I did with the sketch...
-------------------------
For the girl, I used the stamp set that comes exclusively with the Cherry-O Workshop on the Go.  It's a set of collanders and cherries...I just used one of the collanders for the girls body...the backside of the largest cherry for the head and used White Hemp (separated so it would be thinner) to french-knot her hair.
---------------------------
The inside of the card...
----------------------
You can also make a ladybug (shown below), teapot, etc. using this same stamp set...

I got the inspiration from my dear friend and upline, Pamela O'Connor...she's the brilliant one who came up with using Cherry-O with Splendor...who would've thunk :0)

Don't forget to play along and link your project back to the main H2H Blog once you're finished!!! A complete set of rules can be found on my sidebar or on the main H2H Blog.

The challenge....Stamp You Own Background

I absolutely LOVED this challenge!!! I've been stamping my own backgrounds for quite a while (see below for some other cards)...it's kinda like random stamping, just more organized!!!
Here's what I did with it...

Don't forget to check out all the other DT members' blogs and see what backgrounds they've created!!!

H2H7 Color Challenge....

I  usually LOVE when people give me colors to work with...it takes all the guessing and pondering color choices away and usually leads to a faster "come together" piece of art.  This challenge, however, was a little different!  I simply ADORE all three colors in this week's Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge but I found myself grasping for something to create.

Here are the colors....
Here's what I did with them....

H2H6 Challenge...

This was going to be my favorite challenge (yes...even above the "ribbon" challenge)...who doesn't love TECHNIQUES (especially DISTRESSING) and I happen to love to teach them.  But...I stepped on a 3" VERY RUSTY nail while working on our fence Saturday and spent a couple of hours at the Urgent Care Clinic, had to get a Tetnus Shot and a Rx for some antibiotics so...I've been pretty much confined to my couch and propping up my foot all weekend!!!  The good news is that I shouldn't become deathly ill or anything but it does feel like I'm walking on a golf ball...which is NOT PRETTY and very UNCOMFORTABLE!!!

Onto the challenge this week....show us your favorite TECHNIQUE and tell us about it!!!  One lucky winner will be rewarded by our sponsor, Deneen...she has a lot of goodies for you this week including some SUPER CUTE cards!!!

Even though my mishap kept me out of my scrapbook room, I couldn't leave you guys hanging so I've decided to repost an oldie but a goodie.  This card uses Twitterpated Paper Packet and a retired SOTM, Treasures (I have a set or two for sale on my Stash For Sale Blog if you're interested!!).

As far as me "explaining" my technique which is DISTRESSING, you can check out my YouTube video <<<<here>>>>.

Don't forget to check out what the other Design Team Members have in store for you...I can assure you that their's will be "newer"...lol

Arghhhhh.....TOO LONG!!!

Not only have Quarter Reviews been keeping me busy but at the slightest hint to some of my time being freed up, the market "misbehaves"...if it would get it together, I'd have more time to CREATE!!!

Hopefully this weekend will be the beginning of me posting again...sorry, guys!

Drumroll please.....

K received JV - Offensive Player of the Year last night at Central's Soccer Awards Banquet. He finished the year with the most goals (8) and he even had a "hat trick" in one game (3 goals).  He was excited but not as much as his mama was!!!  It's always good to know that people think as highly of your child as you do!

Here's a picture of him with his Coach....

-------------------------------
Here are a couple of pictures of him in "action"....these are with his select team that travles to Arlington every other weekend...I didn't have any "good" pictures of Central Soccer!

H2H Challenge....Mother's Day Card

First of all...THANK YOU to all who are participating in our Heart 2 Heart Challenges (H2H)...it's so fun to see what you guys come up with!!!  I hope you're enjoying having a CTMH Challenge Blog...I know I am!
-------------------------------
This week's challenge is to honor all the Mother's out there (hopefully your Mother) by making a Mother's Day Card!  I am lucky to still have my Mother but I know that many of you may not.  Some ideas for this Mother's Day...make YOURSELF a Mother's Day card...hand it to your husband/significant other and have him get your children to write something special in it...not only will it be a card you're SURE TO LOVE, it saves your husband from standing in the grocery store isle looking for that "special" card...lol.  Another idea is to adopt someone at a Nursing Home...she may have children that remember her on this special day but a card would still be appreciated...maybe a neighbor if you know that their children don't live near them or maybe they don't have children that recognize all the wonderful things Mothers do.  You can find some really nice sentiments online that are for those kind of Mothers...the kind that aren't yours but you've adopted them!!!  A handmade card always makes someone's day!!!
-----------------------------
On to my card...

I chose to do a square card...surprise, surprise...I just LOVE square cards!!!  I used Veranda and Bella Paper Packets....

---------------------------
The sentiment and ribbon are pop-dotted on the right side for dimension....
----------------------------
Here's a closeup of the NEW Irresistibles Dimensional Elements (for some reason they're not pulling up on the shopping side of my website...the number is Z1307 and they're only $4.95).  I also used Say it in Style and Bitty Sparkles...I threw in some Creme Brulee Ribbon and used Cocoa Ink, Juniper Ink and Creme Brulee for the Irresistibles and the "Mother's Day".

----------------------------
Thanks for stopping by....don't forget to play along by creating your own Mother's Day card and linking it back to the main H2H Challenge Blog.  You can find a complete set of rules on my sidebar or on the H2H blog.

We also have a sponosr this week so that means one random player will get all the goodies that Miss Adeline has for you!!!  Thanks Adeline!

Now go check out the other Design Team members and see what FABULOUS creations they have to show off...
