CAS and H2H...

This week's H2H Challenge is keeping it Clean and Simple (CAS)...

In order to keep my feet to the fire and not go in the direction I usually do, I thought a 10-minute challenge would be FUN!  I've been seeing some of the bloggers do 10-minute challenges - where they only have 10 minutes to complete a project - and I thought 'I can do this'!

Here's a snapshot of my phone's timer...

Here's what I was able to complete.  I didn't even get out scissors, etc. before starting the clock...just had my Chantilly Paper Packet with accessories in front of me!

 

The inside, however, was done AFTER the 10 minutes :0(

Later Sk8r & Studio J - Two 1-page Layouts...

This is probably my favorite set of Studio J layouts I've done so far! 

I love how bright they are and how different they look. 

Here's what they look like right out of Studio J...both were created using the "No Limits" pattern which means that my pictures had to be added to my jpg using a photo editing software or I can also add my real photos once I get these printed layouts in the mail from CTMH!

Here's a close-up of the other 'not-so-Later Sk8r' layout right out of Studio J...Notice I journaled in Studio J so when I ordered this jpg and this layout printed, this is exactly what I'm going to get.  All I have to do is add my photos.

I've been asked a lot about where I get my inspiration for these layouts!  Chances are you can find layouts very similar to these and any other layouts I scrap (whether with Studio J or traditionally) on my Pinterest Boards! 

Tic-Tac-Toes - Everyone Knows how COOL your are...

Here is a little Valentines treat I made for the ladies at my mom's office.  She loves to give gifts but never has the time to make them...so she usually buys me lunch one day to do it for her...lol

Tic Tacs for the "tic tac" - nail polish for the "toes" - different size rhinestones for the "X's & O's"...just in case they want to actually play.  This one I put in one of our My Creations Clear Treat Tubes (this one I made for my Mom and I knew she wouldn't mind her tic tacs being loose in the tube - separated by a thin sheet of acetate punched with a circle punch)...

These are the ones she actually gave her girls...all wrapped nicely in a cellophane bag!

 

For Always & Studio J - Two 1-page Layouts...

Tommy & Studio J - two 1-page layouts

So....I've always LOVED Studio J but I scrapbook because I like the feel and smell of paper, stamps and ink!  You can only get that through traditional scrapbooking.

 

CTMH offers TONS OF RESOURCES for premade Workshops (WOTG Kits) with full instructions and cutting dimensions, etc.  It truly makes scrapbooking Faster, Simpler, Easier!  But...I'm a go-it-yourself kinda gal and enjoy taking bits and pieces from inspiration I find on Pinterest (you can follow me by using the button on the right sidebar), in magazines, at the store, etc. and make it my own.  Studio J, lately, has given me this freedom!

 

Also...I've noticed in the scrapbooking industry that 1-page layouts are very popular...in fact several of my customers only scrapbook using this method.  So....I set out to conquer two goals:

•   Scrapbook with my own style
•   Make a 2-page layout (which is how Studio J layouts come and are ordered) look like two 1-  page layouts

Here's my end-product using Tommy Paper Packet:

WARNING: 

This approach is NOT what Studio J was intended for.  It is not a QUICK PROCESS. 

 

Studio J, in its original form, is WONDERFUL!!!!  I just wanted to push the limits and see if I could get what "I want" from it.  While I'm showing you these layouts and at least 2 other posts that will contain the same sort of approach, I also use Studio J traditionally to catch up on layouts or to plan my upcoming workshops. 

 

These layouts are created FROM SCRATCH using all text/title boxes which means there are no photo wells to be able to drop your photos in.  You have to order the layouts with text boxes labeled with intended photo size and attach your photos later either by adhesive (if you order the printed layouts) or through another photo editing software (I use fotoflexer...it's FREE and very user-friendly).

 

Also, currently Studio J does not have the ability to tell you what size your 'text boxes' are so it's a math game (to me at least) and some photo mats may not be exactly the size you have labeled.

Check back in the next few days to see MORE OF THESE KIND OF LAYOUTS using Studio J...you'll be amazed how different the two layouts look!  I hope to have a "tutorial" of sorts soon to explain the process!

 

Also...AN EXTENSION WAS JUST ANNOUNCED...the $5 Studio J layouts (two-page spread) with FREE jpg is good 'till March 15th. This is the perfect time to catch up on your scrapbooking or to try Studio J out if you haven't yet!
