Share the Magic Blog Hop....

Not only can I not believe that it's already OCTOBER, but I really can't believe that I'm already using my Christmas stamps.

This month's blog hop is using October's SOTM, Share the Magic and it's full of Christmas icons including Santa, Rudolph, Frosty and some other few tidbits shown below:

This month we have LOTS of Consultants participating which means you'll be seeing LOTS of great artwork using this one stamp set!  If you've come from Cindy's Blog, you're on the right track!  If you get lost, you can always come back here and try to pick it up or go to Helen's Blog and see a complete list!

For my card this month, I chose to do a 5" x 7" using Mistletoe Paper and some Cocoa Brads.

-----------------------------
Closeup of the brads - I also stamped the little star-looking stamp and stuck the Cocoa brad through...when I saw Angela's creation for the Thriller Blog Hop, it just stuck in my head and I'm sure this is where the idea for all these brads and distressing came from.
 ---------------------
Here's a closeup of Santa's suit...I used Liquid Applique, let it dry completely and then heated with the Craft Heater...this method keeps the LA from bubbling up too much and gives it a little smoother look.  I also used the Licorice Opaques for his belt buckle...

Don't forget to hop on over to JEN'S BLOG and see what she's made with the set!!!

Also...don't forget you can start placing your orders for this CUTE stamp set today and you can even earn it for FREE!!! Contact your consultant to find out how or click here for more information!

Spiderman Birthday - the Invites...

My sweet little TK (boy) recently celebrated his 3rd birthday and when asked what kind of party HE wanted, he responded....DORA!!!  Of course, his daddy wasn't gonna let that happen (although my upline, Pamela, did have some CUTE layouts I could've cased...lol).  So, I kindly told him "no" and asked for another "theme"...he quickly responded ELMO....now, this would've worked perfectly EXCEPT that's what he did LAST YEAR and a scrapbooker can't have 2 years in a row with the same theme (you can check out last year's here)!!!  So...with some "suggestions", he's decided on Spider Man!!!

Here are the invites that went out this week....

I used CTMH's NEW White Daisy Circle Cards, Cranberry, Black and White Daisy Cardstock, the Coluzzle to cut ovals for the eyes (Coluzzle is no longer available but I keep my handy at all times!)...Bonding Memories Glue Pen, 3-D Foam Tape (for the eyes), My Legacy Writers for the doodling and webs on the inside of the envelope and Spook Alley for the web on the envelope.  The Black glitter is some I picked up at Michael's.

I have some great ideas for cupcakes and goodie bags and will post pictures of those next week.

Thursday Night Football....

No artwork today....BUT....

I finally got these photos off my camera and decided to share them here....

It was a good game (0-0) 'till the 3rd quarter when we gave up 25 points and ended up losing...blah!

Keek had some good catches and even got to kick some...

-----------------------------
here's a close-up of his scrawny butt...#2...he looks so tiny out there...

and...the CUTEST fan there...(for some reason DD wasn't into getting his picture taken so I don't have one of him)...

Mary Engelbreit Birthday....

Yesterday was my niece's birthday party and, if you recall, it was all Mary Engelbreit....I made the invitations below (and you can see them in my post here)...and a local girl (Ashley Gay) made the cookies...they were to DIE FOR!!!  They taste so much like the ones you get from those other guys and they were  ADORABLE!!!!

Here are some pictures from the day....

----------------------------------
As my present, I decorated a box for her to hold some of her "dress up" stuff....gave her some bath products, some lip stuff and made her a tutu....

---------------------------------
Her holding up some CUTE jeans she got...she loved the "bling" on the belt....

----------------------------
A picture of me and her....you can see her tutu...she LOVED it...she put it on right after she opened it and kept it on the entire evening...you'll notice sweet little T-cakes head poking from around the side...lol

----------------------
and....these are the CUTE cookies from The Occasional Cookie...if you're local, you have to order some of these....she can do just about any design as you'll see when you click on her link above!!!  I just LOVE when something CUTE is YUMMY too!!!

Back 2 School....THANKS!!!

I usually try to bribe THANK my children's teachers each year with a GIFT!  This is this year's back2school bribe gift!
---------------------------------
4 dozen pencils fit in this glass jar...a perfect gift (if you ask me) for a teacher who I'm sure has to supply half the class with pencils by the 2nd-month....her last name starts with a "B" so I used the Monogram "B" and some "contraband" black ricrac...
-----------------------------------
For the card, I wanted to use Notebook (my favorite and happens to be no longer available - I stashed up while I could...lol)....
--------------------------------
One my NEW (and by that I mean this is the first time I've tried it....hehehehe) favorite things to do is the stamp the sentiment...I used one of my 'go-to' stamp sets....Thank You....and then add my own "doodles" with My Legacy Writers....
-----------------------------
For the bottom of the card, I took 2" squares of various B&T papers from the Notebook pp and crumpled them and then layered on top of each other.  I then died some Twill using Sunflower Ink and stitched (kinda) with Natural Hemp (separated the layers until I only had 2 or 3 and ran through an eye of a needle and sewed...the knots are french knots)

How Fancy is your Fold....H2H Challenge

I'm so glad I'm able to play along this week with H2H's Challenge of using a "fancy fold"....I hope this qualifies!

I saw this CUTE tent card over at SCS and just had to try it out for my sister's birthday that's next week....

I used Cherry-O Paper Packet, Big Pinks Just Blooms, Clear Sparkles, and Party Pennants Stamp Set (***NEW***)
